I also heard compliments about the delicious chicken dinner from the new caterer, Creative Catering. NOTE: you need to make reservations 24 hours in advance if you want to have dinner. Dinner is at 6:30. ($33/$28) You can always get "show only" tickets at the door ($15) which starts at 7:30. Best seats are available for tonight and next Saturday (who watches those silly old sports events...?!) but there are some seats available for ALL remaining shows. Tonight, and next Fri/Sat. Call for reservations (even "show only" reservations get you a better seat since they can set chairs in advance.)Reservations: 243-6040 www.starlightdinnertheatre.com
I can't really "review" Crazy Little Thing Called Love at Starlight, since I am IN it. But I CAN report that opening night was a HIT with the visiting authors, Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, who enjoyed watching the premiere of their new script, soon to be PUBlished - by Dramatists' I think they said. (And all our names will be printed in the published script as the "original cast." How cool is that?) It was a real tribute to Linda Granger (now in her ninth season presenting successful dinner theatre in west Lansing) to have these authors choose her for the premiere. (Starlight's produced five other wacky Jones Hope Wooten Comedies.) This is the kind of show that only comes alive when the audience is added. We "ride" on the waves of laughter.
