8/14 & 16 - Andromeda Community Theatre AUDITIONS for CHECK, PLEASE
Written by Jonathan Rand, Directed by Patrick Monroe

AUDITIONS: August 14th and 16th 6pm at Windwalker Underground Galleries, 125 S. Cochran, Charlotte, MI 48813

Production Dates: October 20th and 21st 7pm at the Eaton Rapids Senior Center. Dinner will be served at 6pm.

Dating can be hard. Especially when your date happens to be a raging kleptomaniac, or your grandmother's bridge partner, or a mime. Check Please follows a series of blind dinner dates that couldn't get any worse -- until they do. Could there possibly be a light at the end of the tunnel? Check Please will be combined with Check Please Take 2, which is a continuation of Check Please.

Guy (20’s-30’s) is just trying to find a reasonable person to date.

Girl (20’s-30’s) is just hoping there is someone normal out there for her.

Louis (20’s-30s) is not a good listener. He has his own idea of where the conversation should go.

Melanie (20’s-30’s) is a big Detroit Lions fan. In fact, she’s just going to check the score of the game real quick. Okay, just one more time. “Come on! Just pass the frigging ball!”

Ken (20’s-30’s) is a bit too into the romance and a bit too oblivious to personal boundaries. Mary (20’s-30’s) has brought a few wedding dresses for Guy to choose between. She also knows where they are going to honeymoon and has picked out the names of their children.

Mark (20’s-30’s) is wearing a burlap sack, which is absolutely fine because it’s a Versace. Pearl (20’s-30’s) is a raging kleptomaniac.

Tod (7-10) is a little young for Girl. His favorite animal is an elephant, he has a scar he got from kickball, but at least he is going to pay for dinner. This role will be played by a child.

Sophie (60+) is a very old woman.

Brandon (20’s-30’s) is perfect. He is considerate and funny and charming. He is an actor who is up for a role in A Streetcar Named Desire. He is a shoo-in for the role of Stanley...as long as he can pass for being straight.

Linda (20’s-30’s) has a great personality. In fact, she has a great many personalities – some great, some not so great. One of her personalities is a monkey.

Manny (20’s-30’s) has a few dietary issues, some commitment issues, a couple dozen phobias, and some allergies.

Mimi (20’s-30’s) is a mime

Kim (20’s-30’s) Girl’s best friend. Thinks she should get back into the dating pool.

Hank (20’s-30’s) Guy’s best friend. Thinks he should get back into the dating pool.

Donna (20’s-30’s) A doctor. Constantly getting phone calls during the date; and takes them!

Lyle (20’s-30’s) Claims to know several different languages.

Julia (20’s-30’s) Considerably insensitive.

Dewey (20’s-30’s) An “extreme” accountant

Jackie (20’s-30’s) Very upbeat. Speaks in online acronyms.

Alex (20’s-50’s) A pirate

Cleo (20’s-40’s) A psychic

Paul (20’s-40’s) A polygamist
