The large cast did a good job, with courtroom scenes and expert witnesses, and two couples — lesbians with two sons and two committed gay men -- putting human faces on the frustrations and dilemmas of gay couples denied the right to marry. This reading demonstrated Peppermint's commitment "to produce contemporary theatre that addresses vital issues in our society, raises awareness, and encourages dialogue while entertaining."

Tomorrow, we see Beauty Queen of Leenanane at Riverwalk (2 pm see you there!) - and I expect it will be very different from these two -- a "dark comedy" illustrating how NOT to get along with your mother on Mother's Day?
