Blind since birth, Don (Jeff Kennedy) is struggling to escape his overprotective mother (Terry Minor) and prove he can live on his own, when flighty hippie next-door neighbor Jill (Amelia Rogocka) pops in to lubricate the process. Mom shows up, but before we can label her "the bad guy" events take a turn and each has to face his/her vulnerabilities.
Jeff was very good at "being blind" and also portraying Don's charm, humor and his dark side, too. Amelia is full of engaging charm and energy, avoiding her own "issues" — and Terry gives mom more depth than we at first expect. Welcome this new actress to the Lansing area.
Dinner was good, too (boneless beef ribs); I like the new "Creative Catering" (There is a vegetarian option.)
