This show was stellar in all respects - versatile stylish set (Dirk Rennick, Dan Wenzlick) FABulous costumes (Ailssa Britten and her team) wonderful dancing and great voices on those 70’s/80’s hits…all woven into an interesting who’s-the-dad mystery that offers up a little food for thought on the ideas of marriage and sex. Kudos to star director Garrett Bradley and his wonderful choreographer Erica Duffield.
Isa Rodriguez was a perfect bride-to-be, Sophie, and Amanda DeKatch was her perfectly frazzled yet independent mom Donna. It was wonderful to see Amanda onstage again with real-life talented hubby Chad DeKatch as one of the could-be fathers. Stephanie Banghart was another Lansing favorite, now transplanted to Owosso, playing Rosie to the hilt, and that fab costumer Alissa also played Tanya, Donna’s other 80’s girl-group singer. The trio was a hoot.
Rusty Broughton (of former MSU fame) and Michael Windnagle, an Owosso favorite, played the other two could-be fathers with style and charm. The entire company was excellent — with extra credit points to Keenan Kangas who took over for the injured Isaac Orr as cougar-catcher Pepper only a week or so before opening — and I never would have known if I hadn’t seen it on Faceobook. The entire cast was top notch.
This delightful show was sensational — and pretty much sold out, so call or get on that website asap -

Well worth the drive to Owosso.
