Though the program credits the realistic set design to Jeff Miller, Director Michael credits much of its execution and the wonderful fence to Leroy Cupp. Extensive properties by Gertrude Makepeace enhance the atmosphere.
This script was inspired by real Native American legends and the actual birth of a white buffalo calf in Janesville, Wisconsin in 1994, which provoked controversy over whether or not to sell the calf, weighing financial gain against respect for indigenous cultures and religion.
Author Don Zolidis created a powerful, fictional, family drama within this frame. Kudos to stressed single mother Emily Clark, her rebellious daughter Cassie Little, estranged husband Doak Bloss, and visiting Native American questioner, Boris Nikolovski — with benevolent tycoon Jeff Boerger, making the purchase offer. All were convincing, touching and thought-provoking in this emotion-packed experience.
White Buffalo continues through March 11
