Riverwalk Theatre is recruiting approximately 10 actors to appear in five short plays to
be presented at the Emerging Playwrights Festival on Saturday August 1 at Riverwalk
Theatre. Each script is 12 pages or less. Two scripts will be staged as full productions;
three will be staged readings. All are original plays written by students who won the
2026 Emerging Playwrights Competition.


Approximately twenty roles are involved, so actors will potentially play more than 1 role.
Actors in a full production may also have a role in a staged reading; actors in a staged
reading may also have a role in a full production. In addition to their acting roles, actors
may also be assigned as narrators for a staged reading to read the stage directions.
Play synopses and details about the characters (including ages and genders) are
broken down below.
Rehearsals will occur Sunday-Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm beginning with a
readthrough of all plays on Sunday, July 5- time TBD. Staged readings will have 3
rehearsals before the performance on Saturday, August 1. Full productions will have
12 rehearsals before the performance on August 1.

Children navigate the scary and adult world of factory work with a twist ending.

Production Dates: September 11–13 & 17–20, 
Sycamore Creek church 1919 S. Pennsylvania - (NOT the Eastwood performance location)

Emily plans to have everyone audition with the same monologue and then do a few scenes. There will be copies of the monologue at auditions.

This isn’t the myth you remember; it is a sharp, modern interrogation of the collateral damage caused by ego and the cyclical nature of systemic violence. This production transforms a classic epic into a catalyst for dialogue about power, gender, and the human cost of conflict. Patrons will find themselves captivated by a narrative that is as breathtakingly theatrical as it is socially urgent. By amplifying these sidelined voices, the play challenges us to look closely at our own society and the stories we choose to tell. Prepare for an evening of theatre that entertains with its wit while demanding we acknowledge the “vital issues” woven into our global heritage.

As a community theatre organization, Evolve Theatrics believes that the themes of Annie are especially meaningful today. Bare Bones Improv and Riverwalk Theatre are seeking 12 performers for The Skeleton Crew, our official house-style performance team for the late
2026 season. This is not just a cast. It’s a cohort. We are looking for improvisers who are collaborative, coachable, supportive, reliable, and excited to build something together.

AUDITIONS

Riverwalk Theatre - Rehearsal Hall

This ensemble will perform late-night improv shows at Riverwalk Theatre, including:

August 8, 2026

7:00 PM & 9:30 PM

In addition to Riverwalk performances, members of The Skeleton Crew may also be tapped intermittently for Bare Bones-affiliated events and 
special performances throughout 2026, and may qualify for participation in an improv festival competition team in 2027.

Selected performers will be expected to regularly attend Open Swim on Tuesdays (welcoming all aged 18+ wanting to try improv) and participate in one additional weekly rehearsal, scheduled based on cast availability after auditions.
