We saw this 60’s concert at the Grand Ledge Opera House and it is FAB, man! If you’re a 60’s cool cat relic like me, get yourself to Portland (not that far, and a charming old theatre building) and have some retro fun with this show!
Singers on the Grand presents "Yesterday: The 60s In Song” at the Portland Community Theater (231 Maple St. in Portland, MI) on Saturday April 23 at 7:00 pm. The 12 singers and 7 band members will take you on a musical journey through your favorite songs of the decade.
Coming off two sold-out shows in Grand Ledge, the group is excited to bring to Portland iconic 1960s music like songs from The Beatles, Motown, The Fifth Dimension, Sonny & Cher, The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, The Mamas and the Papas, and many other favorite performers. Includes full ensemble performances, solos, duets, and small group numbers. This high-energy show is filled with colorful costumes and other reminders of what made the 1960s memorable.
This will be the ensemble’s last performance of their 2021-2022 season and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Portland Civic Player’s marquee renovation project.
