They're Playing Our Song
Book by Neil Simon
Lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager & Music by Marvin Hamlisch
Directed by Connie Curran-Oesterle
Lansing Community College's Spring 2015 Black Box Production
What happens when a neurotic musician is paired with an eccentric lyrist and asked to write the next big hit? What you have is the crazy romance between real life song writers Marvin Hamlisch and Carole Bayer Sager. Neil Simon has written a hysterical play with music, set to the pop and disco beat of the late 1970's. While this is a two person show, they are not completely without support! They each have three alter ego "back-up singers" to lend support when needed. They say you should never fall in love with someone you work with...but what if you just can't help yourself?
