The role in Ruthless open to community members is the role of Tina Denmark a multi-talented young girl who can sign, dance and act!

The other roles will be played by MSU students. All 8 other characters can be college or adult age and of either gender.

Everyone auditioning should prepare an uptempo song 32 bars in length that shows off your personality. All actors cast will be paid. 

Callbacks will be held immediately following the auditions. until 2:45 PM. Auditions and callbacks in Room 12 in the basement of the Auditorium Building on the MSU campus. Enter the Auditorium Building from the Farm Lane side and head downstairs. 

Ruthless begins rehearsals on 5/12/2014. The show runs 6/25-6/28/2014.

We had a great start in casting Twinderella, at Mid Michigan Family Theatre  but still have a number of roles open for all ages. (Great chance for kids and parents/grandparents to perform together.) Shows April 25 - May 4.

A hilarious send-up of ’Cinderella,’ Twinderella will delight actors and audiences alike with humor for all ages.

We’ve all heard the story of Cinderella a thousand times, but we’ve never heard about Bob, her long lost twin brother!  Living in the same kingdom with different wicked stepfamilies, Cinderella’s cruel stepmother and evil stepsisters make her rotate tires and polish bowling trophies while Bob’s evil stepfather and cruel stepbrothers force him to make dried herb wreaths and organize their sock drawers.  When Lou the UPS Guy arrives with invitations from the Kingdom of Wychwood-under-Ooze, Cinderella and Bob are both thrilled but forbidden to attend the festivities.  With the help of the Fairy Godmother, the Godfather (he ain’t no fairy!), two enchanted gerbils and a lot of luck, they find a way!  On the night that Cinderella crashes Princess Petunia’s birthday ball, Bob has similar designs on Prince Percy’s kingdom-wide baseball game.  When the two strangers disappear at midnight after Cinderella hits a game winning homerun, the search is on to find the feet that fit the glass slipper and the muddy cleat!  !

The Owosso Community Players are pleased to announce auditions for the first-ever production to be performed in the newly renovated Lebowsky Center. The show is “Shrek the Musical,” to be directed by OCP’s artistic director Garrett Bradley and presented May 9, 10, 16, 17 at 8 pm., and May 11, 17, and 18 at 3 p.m. 
Adult auditions for this fun-filled musical version of the popular DreamWorks film will be held on February 18 and 19 at the Owosso Middle School Auditorium with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. for sign-in. Adult auditions will begin at 7 p.m High school age students should audition with the adults.

Children grades 3-8 may audition for the roles of Young Shrek ,Young Fiona, and Baby Bear at 4 p.m. on February 18 at the Studio Theater. Young Fiona requires a strong singer. Children who audition should prepare a short song and will be asked to tell a very short story.

Everyone who auditions must bring their schedule conflicts to facilitate future rehearsal scheduling. Those who wish to audition should be prepared to sing a vocal selection (it is not necessary to perform an entire song), preferably a contemporary musical theater song, according to Bradley. Auditioners should also be prepared to dance, (tappers should bring their tap shoes). 

Shrek was one of the biggest shows ever produced on Broadway and later in London’s West End theater district and multiple U.S. tours. Brian D'arcy James of Saginaw, Michigan originated the role of Shrek on Broadway.

“Shrek will be the biggest spectacle ever produced by OCP,” Bradley said. 
Audiences will see a flying dragon, elaborate fairytale sets, magical transformations and illusions, and a ton of fairy tale characters all in one show, according to Bradley.

“Shrek is a family show that kids and adults are certain to enjoy, so if you are looking for a way to exhibit YOUR musical talents, please join us at auditions!” Bradley said.
