Auditions for Matilda, The Musical
Evolve Theatrics (formerly known as the Blue Light Players) are pleased to announce they will be bringing their production of "Matilda, The Musical" to the stage in August 2021. We were just weeks from opening our production when the pandemic hit and we shut down. However, we are now in a position to move forward with the production. 20 of our 30 original cast members will be returning to the production, but unfortunately, not everyone is able to return. We will be holding auditions for the following roles:
Miss Honey (age 25-45): Matilda's kindhearted teacher. She is tired of living in fear under Miss Trunchbull. Vocal range top: D5 Vocal range bottom: F3
Mr. Wormwood (age 35-45): Matilda's uncaring father. A slimy, greedy used-car salesman, unintentionally hilarious. Vocal range top: A4 Vocal range bottom: D3
Escapologist (age 20-45): A character in a story Matilda tells to Mrs. Phelps, who comes to life in their imagination. Vocal range top: E4 Vocal range bottom: C3
Michael (teenage or young adult): Matilda's older brother. He is not very bright and is favored by his parents. Non-singing role.
Little Kids (age 10-14): Amanda, Eric, Nigel, and Tommy. Matilda's classmates. All are singing and dancing roles.
Big Kids (teenage and adults): Older students at the school who intimidate Matilda and her classmates. All are singing and dancing roles.
Rehearsals will start toward to end of June and take place several times each week. The production will take place on August 13, 14, and 15. If you are interested in auditioning for one of these roles, please send an email to: mailto:[email protected]
