7/9-10 - Riverwalk Theatre AUDITIONS for
She Loves Me
Musical by Joe Masteroff, Music by Jerry Bock & Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick

Directed by Meghan Eldred
Music Director - John Dale Smith
Auditions:  Sunday & Monday, July 9 & 10, at 7 pm
Show Dates: September 14-24, 2017

In a 1930s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don’t see eye to eye. After both respond to a “lonely hearts advertisement” in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters they exchange with their unknown admirers. Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves... and experience all the twists and turns along the way!
This romantic comedy, with music by Jerry Bock (Fiddler on the Roof), is based on the play Parfumerie by Hungarian playwright Miklós László - also adapted into the films, The Shop Around the Corner (1940), and You’ve Got Mail (1998). She Loves Me showcases a small, but strong ensemble cast playing a range of memorable characters of all ages.

Arpad Laszlo: Delivery boy at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. His exuberance is infectious and commitment to his job remarkable. He is ambitious and adorable. Male aged 14 to 17; Vocal range top: E4; Vocal range bottom: Bb2

Ladislav Sipos: Not the brightest employee at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an optimistic family man who looks like a huggable father. Male aged 45 to 55; Vocal range top: E4; Vocal range bottom: A2

Ilona Ritter: Employed at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. She is sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more from the game of love. Female aged 25 to 30; Vocal range top: E5; Vocal range bottom: F#3

Steven Kodaly: A well respected and liked employee at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. Considered dapper and occasionally charming, he is a shallow womanizer. Male aged 25 to 30; Vocal range top: A4; Vocal range bottom: B2

Georg Nowack: An established employee of Maraczek’s Parfumerie, he resembles a hopeless romantic. Shy, intelligent, and soft spoken. Male aged 25 to 30; Vocal range top: F4; Vocal range bottom: B2

Mr. Maraczek: Owner of Maraczek’s Parfumerie. With a commanding presence, his dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife. Male aged 55 to 65; Vocal range top: C4; Vocal range bottom: B2

Amalia Balash: The eager new employee at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. Despite being a skilled saleswoman, she easily becomes intimidated and nervous. Attractive, bright, and a lover of literature. Female aged 20 to 25; Vocal range top: B5; Vocal range bottom: C4

Ensemble: Varying ages and voice types

Please prepare an audition piece in a similar musical style. Be prepared to learn a dance combination and to read from the script. Perusal scripts available at the RWT office.

7/28-29 – 7pm Friday/Saturday – AUDITIONS for COYOTE ON A FENCE by Bruce Graham, directed by Paige Tufford Illiterate but likable, Bobby Reyburn is a funny young guy who loves to do impressions. He's also a member of the Aryan nation, a racist predator convicted of a horrific crime. John Brennan is educated and arrogant, a serious writer who may only be guilty of doing society a favor. As each awaits his fate, one evokes sympathy, the other derision. In vivid scenes, COYOTE ON A FENCE explores the disturbing question: Can one be innocent though proven guilty? This penetrating new drama offers no clear verdict, just utterly compelling theatre.
Fall Black Box Production – LCC

8/29-30 – 7pm Tuesday/Wednesday – AUDITIONS for THE GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the original by Nikolai Gogol, directed by Mary Matzke –
When the locals in a small Russian hamlet learn that an undercover government inspector is coming for a surprise visit, an unfortunate case of mistaken identity sends the whole village spiraling into a world of panic and greed. Witty, smart and wildly satirical, this timely and spirited adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's classic play exposes the corruption of a provincial town with biting hilarity.
 Fall Mainstage Production – LCC

ALSO - don’t miss Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead - fun zombie show performing tonight through Sunday on the outdoor amphitheater behind Dart Auditorium.

STARLIGHT AUDITIONS
June 30-July 1- 7pm Fri; 2pm Sat - Auditions for "Farce of Habit" directed by Michael Hays
Auditions at
Rising Star Studio of Dance Arts, 526 Lentz Court, Lansing, MI 48917 -

Farce of Habit by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten

From the authors that brought Starlight Theatre the Futrelle sisters trilogy, Hallelujah Girls, Red Velvet Cake War and Funny Little Thing Called Love, this southern-freid comedy is centered around the Reel ‘Em Inn, a rustic fishing lodge in the Ozarks of Arkansas. Comic fireworks explode when the Wilburn family is hosting a strange assortment of guests over a stormy weekend: snobbish English talk show host, a hapless bow-tied Midwesterner, a group of nuns housed in the barn, a vengeful ex-wife and lurking among them all, a serial killer.
