Peppermint Creek Season — (note season auditions August 3-4)

• “Building The Wall” by Robert Schenkkan
Directed by Michael Hays
August 17 – 19, 2017 (for the Renegade Theatre Festival)

On January 20, 2017, Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States. Over the next sixteen months, events would unravel that test every American’s strength of character: executive actions, an immigration round-up of unprecedented scale, and a declaration of martial law. Rick finds himself caught up as the frontman of the new administration’s edicts and loses his humanity. In a play that recalls George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four and the Nazi regime, BUILDING THE WALL is a terrifying and gripping exploration of what happens if we let fear win.

"I Now Pronounce"
 by Tasha Gordon-Solmon
Directed by Jordan Climie
Sept 21-24 & 28-Oct 1, 2017

After Adam and Nicole’s wedding culminates in an awkwardly timed fatality, the reception spins into an increasingly strange evening that leaves the bride and groom questioning just what it is they’re celebrating. But there’s no stopping the festivities: the flower girls are running amuck, the bridal party members are more preoccupied with their own flailing relationships, and everyone needs to stop ordering the blue drinks. Comedies end in marriage. Tragedies end in death. This play begins with both.

“Falsettos"
 by William Finn
Directed by Ben Cassidy, music directed by
Nov 9-12 & 16-19, 2017

Falsettos is the tale of Marvin, who leaves his wife and young son to live with another man. His ex-wife marries his psychiatrist, and Marvin ends up alone. Two years later, Marvin is reunited with his lover on the eve of his son’s bar mitzvah, just as AIDS is beginning its insidious spread. "A masterly feat of comic storytelling and [...] visionary musical theater." -Variety

• “The Christians” by Lucas Hnath
Directed by Chad Swan-Badgero
Feb 1-4 & 8-11, 2018

• Twenty years ago, Pastor Paul's church was nothing more than a modest storefront. Now he presides over a congregation of thousands, with classrooms for Sunday School, a coffee shop in the lobby, and a baptismal font as big as a swimming pool. Today should be a day of celebration. But Paul is about to preach a sermon that will shake the foundations of his church's belief. A big-little play about faith in America—and the trouble with changing your mind.
• “The Flick” by Annie Baker
Directed by John Lepard
march 16- 18 & 23-25, 2018

In a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts, three underpaid employees mop the floors and attend to one of the last 35 millimeter film projectors in the state. Their tiny battles and not-so-tiny heartbreaks play out in the empty aisles, becoming more gripping than the lackluster, second-run movies on screen. With keen insight and a finely-tuned comic eye, The Flick is a hilarious and heart-rending cry for authenticity in a fast-changing world.

“I Love You Because”
Directed by Michele Booher-Purosky,
April 26-29 & may 3-6, 2018

I Love You Because is a modern twist on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice , set in New York City. A young, uptight greeting card writer’s life is changed when he meets a flighty photographer. Along with their eccentric friends and siblings, they learn to love each other not in spite of their faults, but because of them.

The Drama Ladies present ‘Oh, Behave’!
Directed & Created by Leah Gerstel & Megan Lawrence
May 14-21, 2018

Manners are for Everyone! Learning manners can be fun, and Eddy & Kit Mannerhausen know how to get the job done! A one-of-a-kind interactive performance for young children filled with games, songs and crafts will give your child the opportunity to improve social awareness and show kindness in everyday scenarios.  Give your child the gift of  "Manners for Life  " and set them up for lasting success. Performances perfect for ages 3 – 10.
