Interested in auditioning for Urinetown at Riverwalk Theatre?
Auditions are being scheduled Sunday and Monday September 8-9
Please fill out the audition form ahead of time, along with your availability for auditions, included in the link below. There are four audition time slots (6-8pm and 8-10pm over two days, Sunday and Monday September 8 and 9). 

The casting team will then assign you an audition time/day, which they will email to you. This will help auditions run smoothly and ensure that auditioners have a minimum of waiting around!

Portland Civic Players Auditions Disney’s Descendents – Audition Info

The Portland Civic Players are excited to announce audition dates for their fall production of Disney’s Descendents! Auditions will be held: 

August 26 & 27 @ 7pm at the Portland Community Theater located at 231 Maple Street in Portland. 

Performance dates are November 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 & 17


Please bring a prepared song with backing track (no accompanist will be available).


Ages: 15 and up


Rehearsal Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays @ 7PM*


*Some Saturday rehearsals may be required for choreography.
*Dress Rehearsal is scheduled for October 27th.

Last chance! Actors are still needed for Starlight’s musical, Sherlock Holmes and the Great Royal Goose Chase! 


Please email audition recording to Director Dale Williams at mailto:[email protected] by the end of week (Aug 23) with a First Read scheduled for Aug 26. All skill and experience levels, ages, vocal ranges, body types, and dance ability are encouraged to audition.”

To audition: Please send an audition tape to mailto:[email protected] and mailto:[email protected]  It should include a 30-60 second song excerpt highlighting your vocal and comedic range. In your email, please include your name, contact information, schedule conflicts, relevant theatrical experience and training, and special skills.
If you would like to be considered for the characters of Holmes, Watson, Lastrade, Irene, Eileen, or Hersey. Please attend an in-person audition on Wednesday, Aug 14 from 6-9 pm at Delta Presbyterian Church, 6100 W. Michigan Ave 48917 (across the street from the old post office).

Plot:
When Buckingham Palace is robbed, it is up to the renowned Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson, and the audience to solve the crime and return the royal treasure to its rightful place. Upon arriving in the theater, audiences are met by world-famous sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, and his trusted mate, Dr. Watson, who are on the case of a stolen golden treasure from Buckingham Palace! There may be a clue hidden anywhere, and only “The Audience” holds the answers that will unravel them! Featuring a mysterious songstress, a murdered duke, a world-famous chocolatier, tap-dancing British Bobbies, Holmes, Newsies-type, Baker Street Irregulars, and an all-new original score.

Cast:

Sherlock Holmes, the world-famous sleuth, one-part Basil Rathbone, one-part Henry Higgins, and one-part Bud Abbott. (30s-40s; baritone/tenor)

Dr. John Watson, his trusted mate, one-part Nigel Bruce, one-part Colonel Pickering, and one-part Lou Costello. (50s-60s; baritone)

Irene Adler, an internationally famous American songstress. She has a history which continues to plague her. She has a good heart under her mysterious and steely exterior. (Late 20s-Early 30s; alto/soprano)

Milton Hershey, the well-known American confectioner. Famous for making caramels, he is now beginning a new career in chocolates. Warm and compassionate, in love with Irene, and a good friend. (Late 20s-Early 30s; tenor)

Lady Mortimer (also Eileen), Irene’s sister. She is wily and volatile. Fiancé to the Duke of Wessex. (Mid to Late-20s; soprano)
Inspector Lestrade, the bungling head of Scotland Yard. Always two steps behind Holmes in clue finding, and ten steps behind him in intellect. (30s-50s; bass/baritone)

Bobby #1, Bobby #2, and Bobby #3, Police officers from Scotland Yard. They serve Lestrade. Best played by three females. (20s)

Mrs. Hudson, Holmes’s beloved housekeeper. (50s-60s)
William (also Crook-Backed Passenger), Sherlock’s eyes and ears on the streets of London; his most trusted, young intelligence agent. He is the head of Holmes’s self-appointed Baker Street Irregulars. Nephew to Mrs. Hudson. (20s)

Captain Cameron, Captain of the RMS Oceanic and old university friend of Holmes. (30s-40s)

Mr. Dudley, the bartender of the Savoy Hotel Pub. (30s-40s)

Queen Victoria, that’s right… her. Best played by a male. (60s-70s)

The Greeter, he or she welcomes the audience to the performance. (20s-30s)
