The Lebowsky Center for Performing Arts is pleased to announce auditions for its upcoming production of Into the Woods. Auditions will be held Tuesday, December 17 and Wednesday, December 18 at the Lebowsky Center. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with auditions starting at 7:00pm.

Into the Woods is directed by Lebowsky Center Artistic Director Garrett Bradley, and will feature six performances from February 28, 2025 through March 8, 2025.

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.

The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. While everyone's wish is granted and they all receive their happily ever after, the unintended consequences of their granted wishes unravel their worlds.

Weaving a euphoric score including the songs “Giants in the Sky,” “On the Steps of the Palace,” “No One Is Alone,” and “Children Will Listen” with a darkly humorous book, Into the Woods is a sophisticated musical twist on beloved childhood fables.

Auditions are open to performers ages 14 and up. Please prepare a brief vocal audition in the style of the musical, preferably with sheet music. Make sure that your song is under one minute long and preferably not a song from Into the Woods.  An accompanist will be provided. There will be no dance/movement during the first audition. Actors may be asked to stay and read a few sides from the script.

Those attending auditions are asked to fill out the google form link below ahead of time to help facilitate scheduling on audition days. All performers only need to attend one day. Character descriptions can be found below. There is no ensemble in the musical.
