​Mid Michigan Familiy Theatre  is looking for actors of all ages to fill out the cast of Mr. Toad's Mad Adventures. A great opportunity for families to act together on stage.
Casting information: There are great roles for all ages. Adults are encouraged to sign up along with their children or grandchildren.
Movement information: Dance and movement will be incorporated where possible in the script/
Rehearsal information: Rehearsals Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 8:30
Tech Week information: Tech rehearsal on Monday, June 6. Dress rehearsals on Wednesday, June 8 and Thursday, June 9 from 6:30 until 8:30.
Performance information: Performances on Friday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11 at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12 at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. No show on Father’s Day.
 

About the show: Here is a delightful new version of Kenneth Grahame’s always popular The Wind in the Willows.  Toad of Toad Hall is an eccentric but likable chap given to ’crazes.’ His latest craze involves motorcars.  Unfortunately, he smashes them up as fast as he gets them.  He even steals one for a wild ride over the countryside.  Naturally, this gets him into a great deal of trouble.  His dear friends Badger, Rat, and Mole do their best to help, but their efforts aren’t enough, and Toad ends up in prison...  after an uproarious courtroom scene.  His imprisonment couldn’t please his enemies, the weasels, more.  They quickly take over Toad Hall and trash the place.  Meanwhile, the jailer’s daughter, Polly, thinks Toad is an exceptional fellow and helps him escape dressed as a washerwoman!  On his way back home, he has a wild adventure with a barge owner who is horrified to discover the washerwoman is actually a toad.  When Toad finally meets up with his friends again, they devise a clever scheme to recapture Toad Hall from the weasels in another wild scene.

Auditions for Fairy Tale Network. This is a fun comedy and will run for one week only. The production fees for this show are $30.00.

Here is the play's description - This hilarious play is wonderfully easy to produce with loads of humor for both kids and their parents.  The Fairy Tale Network is a television network that needs to improve its viewership ratings with exciting new programming.  The three mice working as creative consultants for the studio each must come up with a story idea to pitch to their new chief, the Cat.  And they need to pitch their ideas fast before they become a fancy feast!  

They retell the well-known tales of Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Pigs, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, but now with new, unexpected twists.  The crew of Busy Bees racing on props and sometimes even becoming the set pieces themselves makes this play fast-paced, super-easy to stage and fun!

Auditions are Monday, August 24 only. The time is from 6:30 - 8:00 at the Big Red Barn in Okemos. There will be a read-through on Wednesday, August 26 starting at 6:30 p.m. We are trying to arrange something special for Saturday, August 29. Rehearsal will be on Mondays and Wednesdays. Production dates will be Friday, October 9 - Sunday, October 11 with shows at 7:00 on Friday and Saturday, and 3:00 on Sunday.

Like other sports and recreation programs for young people, there is a participation fee to be in the production. We charge reasonable, modest fees. With these fees you will receive a script, costumes, props, and help with overall production costs. Adults will not be assessed a production fee but are asked to help mentor younger actors and / or help with production duties such as costuming, set building, etc.  Thank you.
