7/30 - Thursday 6 pm Black Box Theatre (168 Gannon Building) AUDITIONS for Never Swim Alone by Daniel MacIvor, directed by Deb Keller. A stylish and razor-sharp satire as two men, friends scarred by a past event, engage in intense one-upmanship with a childhood ghost as referee. 8/24-25 - Monday/Tuesday 6:30 pm - Dart Auditorium for The Colleen Bawn by Dion Boucicault, directed by Andy Caallis. A magical melodrama full of with and honor set in 19th centlyrt Ireland. Roles for 5 woman and 6 mane - singing, Irish dialects. Shows Mov. 6-7 & 13-15 Dart Auditorium

STARLIGHT AUDITIONS

8/17-18 - Starlight Dinner Theatre will be holding AUDITIONS for the classic comedy (nominated for Five Tony Awards this year), "You Can't Take it With You" on Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18, 7 pm at Unity Renaissance Church, 230 S Holmes St, Lansing 48912 (note Holmes St., not Holmes Road which is the one that intersects Cedar. Holmes St. is on the corner of Prospect and Holmes St. near Sparrow).

There are 7 women's roles, ages 20's to 60's and 9 men's roles of all ages, including 3 male walk-on roles. Show dates are April 22, 23, 29, 30 and May 1st. It will be directed by Diana Lett. We realize this is over spring break and are willing to work around a weeks vacation during the rehearsal period depending on the dates. No roles in this show have been precast. 8/23-24 - AUDITIONS for A Christmas Carol, family musical directed by Tom Ferris
This new adaptation by Tom Ferris adds music and humor to the classic story of Scrooge and the meaning of Christmas.
Auditions: Sun & Mon, August 23 & 24, 2015, at 7 pm
Production Dates: November 27-December 6, 2015 

Come prepared to read from the script and sing a song;  accompanist provided.

Starlight Dinner Theatre is gearing up for Season 10!!

Starlight Dinner Theatre is gearing up for Season 10!!  Ten years!  Amazing!  They have added a Sunday matinee Dessert performance for each show - and a "Starlight-lite" one-weekend-only, dessert-only show, The Garage Sale (written by ME, GLUT Jane) will fill the weather-iffy winter slot.

OPEN AUDITIONS for Starlight's musical "Camelot" are Friday and Saturday, September 26th and 27th at Rising Star Studio of Dance Arts on Lentz Court, Lansing 48917.  The show's performance dates are May 8, 9, 15, 15 & 17.  We are casting early to allow our costumers enough time to build the period costumes.  All roles are available except for King Arthur (Marty Underhill is precast.)  Please email if you would like further information on auditions.

1/3 - NUNSENSE AUDITIONS

Dan Pappas will direct “Nunsense –The Mega-Musical Version" for Starlight Dinner Theatre. James Geer is the music director, Jan Ross is assistant director, Fran Norton is the choreographer and Susan DeRosa is the producer. Show dates are May 9, 10, 14 15, 2014. 

Auditions are Friday, January 3 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, January 4 at 2 p.m. at Rising Star Studio of Dance Arts, 526 Lentz Court. Come prepared to sing, do some movement and read from the script. A song from the show is not required. James Geer will provide accompaniment at auditions. Rising Star Studio is off W. St. Joe, approximately ½ mile east of Waverly Road (where Home Depot and Ollie's are). On the corner of Lentz Court and W. St. Joe is a small UAW hall. If you get to the Bingo Hall and Rosemary Street, you have gone too far. Once you turn onto Lentz Court, it is the fifth building on the left.

The original show has been supersized with several additional characters including some men. None of the 12 available roles has been precast. There are five major roles: Reverend Mother Mary Regina (Mother Superior), Sister Mary Hubert (Mistress of Novices), Sister Robert Anne (Streetwise nun from Brooklyn), Sister Mary Amnesia (Nun who lost her memory), Sister Mary Leo (Nun who wants to be a ballerina).
 
The updated version features Sister Julia, Child of God (Convent Cook) who can be played by either a woman or by a man impersonating Julia Child. Additional roles are Brother or Sister Brendan, Sister Mary Luke (Novice), Sister Mary Wilhelm (Convent Nurse), Father or Sister Mary Virgil (Sister Leo’s Brother or Sister), and two members who could be Nuns, Brothers, Priests, or H.S. Students.
 
Rehearsals will start the last week in March. We will rehearse 4 nights a week. The night off will be determined by availability of rehearsal space and cast. Email [email protected] for additional information and perusal copy of the script.
