Auditions: April 26 & 27, 7-9pm
LCC Black Box Theatre, Gannon Bldg.
Rehearsals begin May
Production Dates: June 21st-25th
Synopsis of the play:
Four young men dedicate themselves to three years of serious scholarship, shunning the company of women. What could possibly go wrong?
When the King of Navarre proposes that his court become a monastic scholarly retreat where the company of women is banned, he reckons without the upcoming embassy, led by the Princess of France and her largely female retinue. One of Shakespeare’s early comedies, rich in wordplay, LLL raises the question of whether there are some promises that should never have be made and whether oaths once broken cast a shadow on later vows of eternal love..
Those auditioning should prepare a short verse speech (about 10 lines) from any Shakespeare play. Auditions will also include readings from the script.
Youngsters auditioning for the role of Moth are not expected to prepare a verse speech but should review the Moth/Armado dialog in the audition materials.
CURRENT AND FORMER STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO AUDITION.
