The Downeaster Theatre (TDT) will be holding open auditions May 31-June 2 for its upcoming youth production of "A Midsummer Night’s Dream” which performs July 26-Aug. 5
Several love stories meet and intertwine on a summer night in the realm of the fairies, which include mistaken identities a donkey, and a play- within-a-play. But was it all a dream? One of William Shakespeare’s well-loved comedies.
Youth ages 6-18 can audition for a part in The Downeaster’s latest production on Thurs., May 31 and Fri., June 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. or Sat., June 2 from 10 a.m.-noon at The Downeaster Theatre, 1120 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Lansing, MI. Those auditioning need only to attend one of the audition sessions. Those interested can also sign up to volunteer backstage for this production (i.e. makeup, costumes, box office, etc.).
For those preparing to audition, TDT will be hosting an audition workshop on Thurs., May 31 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for $5
“I’m looking forward to teaching kids the magic of Shakespeare; there’s nothing like it!” said Executive Artistic Director, Kathryn Willis.
