Yesterday I delivered the get well card many of you signed at the Barney Awards for Winifred Olds to her room at McLaren hospital. Her daughter Julie was there and making arrangements for Win to go back to Okemos rehab where she's been working on her troublesome shoulder which was recovering from minor surgery when she fell and broke her upper arm. Pneumonia/blood clot concerns sent her to the hospital, but those seem to be under control, and I expect she is back at Okemos Health and Rehab Center, 5211 Marsh Road, Okemos, MI 48864. I'm not sure she has her same room/phone - so call the center (517) 319-1400 to confirm before visiting. Send all healing vibes!

1. NUMBER of shows you've seen 2. your choice for BEST MUSICAL 3. your choice for BEST PLAY One vote per e-mail address. (I'm trying to keep it simple since I have NO expertise in spreadsheets and programs/apps that add and average and the like.) There are 766 of you. Add your voices to the Thespies and Pulsars and Barneys which are decided my much smaller groups of people. I sort of love/hate ALL the awards, but they do call ATTENTION to Local Live Theatre, which, we hope, advances "the GLUT cause" if you will. ;-} At any rate, I hope you'll participate and find it interesting to see the response in this first (annual?) GLUTsters Choice award. (Note the "Key" to the theatre initials is at the end.) Voting closes on JUNE 27, 2013 Here's RIPPLES - note the info on Dave Milstein's memorial celebration at 1 pm Saturday, July 20, at Riverwalk Theatre lobby. See you all at the BARNEYS awards show at Riverwalk - 8pm Saturday June 15!
ALL RWT participants and friends are welcome, free of charge. Thursday the 4th of july starting at 9 am at the theatre... and we need a few good men and women volunteers to help staff our entry which will have a M*A*S*H theme in line with our first main stage production in September. Please reply to MASH Director, Justin Brewer at Justebrew@yahoo.com as he is organizing our volunteers. He will need to know your age and you will have to be prepared to attend a fitting as well as sign a waiver for the city to participate. If you plan to audition for MASH on the 14 and 15th of July (role descriptions at www.riverwalktheatre.com and in the Ripples, attached) this will be another valuable opportunity to be seen in action by the director. This event will only last a few hours so the rest of the day could be spent with family. Also keep in mind that you should contact Justin ASAP as the forms need to be in by the 21st of this month - the deadline is Sunday of next week, with a fitting following that week as well. So get on the float and contact Justin ASAP!
