One of our faves, Mary Maurer (remember Legally Blonde?) had a more demure role this time as the new employee, Judy, evolving from mousy to empowered. Alissa Britten was excellent as the should-be boss, Violet. Claire Canfield embodied her best Dolly Parton in the role of Doralee. All three have great voices.
Quenton Brainerd brought his smarmy best to the hateful role of boss Mr. Hart. And Ben Cassidy, as Joe, balanced the scales proving ALL men aren't villains.
The choreography is fun and creative (by Director Garrett Bradley and Erica Duffield) and the costumes are great (Cathy Johnson, Alissa Britten and crew) I especially loved the three revenge-fantasy numbers — plus the unexpected show-stopper Heart to Hart by "Roz" (Rachel Cupples who also vocal directed) The 12-piece orchestra, conducted by Matt Meuwsee gave good support.
9 to 5 continues through September 17; make your reservations now; it was almost sold out and surely will be as the run continues.
