WLNS is now looking for a male actor, to portray the father of 22 and 23 year old girls.
Volunteer position. To shoot very soon. Email info to Dan Clark, Marketing Director WLNS at dclark@wlns.com I got this e-mail the 31st, and missed sending it out more promptly -- not sure what roles need filling or if Bill has filled them, but he said: "Hello, After casting the two shows, we got a notice that several actors had to drop off due to conflicts. We are in need for actors of all ages to fill out the casts of the comedy, A Walk in the Woods, which tells of the meeting of Goldilocks and Red Riding Hood and other characters in the woods along with the telling of some fables of Aesop. This would be a great chance for young actors to get their start on stage. Please contact Bill at this email address: midmichiganfamilytheatre@gmail.com
Thanks!" Here's a description of the Walk in the Woods I found online. Sounds like a lot of fun. There are roles for all ages, adults and children. Productions will be presented April 19 – 28, 2013. There will no rehearsals during spring breaks. "A Walk in the Woods" combines the tales of Goldilocks, the Three Bears, Red Riding Hood, the Three Pigs, and Hansel and Gretel, all blended into one delightful play while staying true to the original stories. Goldilocks, forest-savvy from having to survive in the woods without a family, is on the run from the Three Bears but takes time to help Red Riding Hood, who is leery of her stepmother’s motivation in sending her out into the woods at dusk with a basket full of food and a bright red cloak. Along the way, they are saved by the Woodsman (who also happens to be Hansel and Gretel’s father) from the zany Wolf (the same canine who plagues the Three Pigs). Bring in citizen’s of Mother Goose’s village, including Jack Horner, the Butcher, the Baker and the Candlestick Maker, and this fractured fairy tale has humor for all ages. Rehearsals/production at Schmidt Community Center at 5825 Wise Road in Lansing. Bill Gordon - midmichiganfamilytheatre@gmail.com Mid Michigan Family Theatre ALSO - ONE MORE SHOW of the fun family show OLIVER TWIST - 3pm tomorrow, Sunday the 24th at Schmidt Community Center at 5825 Wise Road in Lansing. www.mmft.net Starlight Dinner Theatre will be holding auditions for two roles in "Fox on the Fairway" this Wednesday, February 20th at 6 pm. Location: 225 Leland Place, Lansing, MI 48917. Performance dates May 10, 11, 17 & 18. Because this show is a farce, both roles require some physical comedy and actors that can let lose.
The roles we need to fill are: JUSTIN HICKS (25 - 30): Bingham’s new eager-to-please assistant who volunteers his services as a golfer to help Quail Valley win the golf tournament. He is romantically involved with Louise and proposes to her early on, but becomes emotionally distraught when things become difficult between them. LOUISE HEINDBEDDER (23 - 30): A waitress at the Quail Valley Country Club. She is very attractive, and a bit flighty, but studious. She gets engaged to Justin early on, but a mishap results in her becoming very upset over their future together, making her cry at a moment’s notice. If you are interested, please email Linda at starlightdinnertheatre@yahoo.com for a copy of the script and to arrange your audition. 2/18-19 - AUDITIONS for A Walk in the Woods and Aesop?
