Curtainless Theatre presents William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar
Directed by Dale Wayne Williams
Performs March 6-8 & 13-15, 2020
at Sycamore Creek Church

Audition Workshop/Principals Audition

December 9, 2019
6:30-8:30 PM
Sycamore Creek Church
6:30 - 7:30 PM - Audition Workshop

This workshop is a chance for those interested in auditioning for Julius Caesar who may want some help preparing a monologue or practicing movement and cold-reading. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions and receive guidance to aid them as they prepare for auditions.
7:30 - 8:30 PM - Principals Audition

Please note that all roles in this production will be cast without regard to gender.

The second half of the event will consist of auditions for those interested in playing one of the three heftiest roles in the show: Brutus, Cassius, and Mark Antony. Because these roles each have a significant number of lines (Mark Antony has 329, Cassius has 506, and Brutus has a whopping 694), this early audition will give the actors cast in them a head start on working through the lines.

If you are interested in auditioning for one of these roles, please fill out this form so that we can get an idea of numbers. Those interested should also prepare a Shakespearean monologue. You will only have three minutes to perform your monologue, so be conscious of length! Be prepared to read scenes from the script as well as participate in a short movement exercise.

Those who come for the audition workshop but are not auditioning for one of the three roles listed above are welcome and encouraged to stay and observe these auditions to get a better sense of how general auditions will be run.

General Auditions

December 16 & 17, 2019
6:30-8:30 PM
Sycamore Creek Church

These auditions are for all roles except the three principal roles listed above. Those interested should prepare a Shakespearean monologue (two minutes or less). Be prepared to read from the script as well as participate in a short movement exercise.

Please Note: Those who attend the principals audition on December 9 to read for the parts of Brutus, Cassius, and Mark Antony, but are not cast in those roles, are not required to attend the general auditions to be considered for other roles in the production. However, it is encouraged!
