The entire cast was excellent. I hesitate to name names because there were two substitutes announced before I’d figured out the character names - but pretty sure it was Danielle Wade as the heart of the story, playing Cady, the new girl in school, making the big transition from being home schooled in the jungles of Kenya to navigating predatory cliques in the jungles of a Chicago high school.
In the past I’ve noted that movies brought to the stage suffered from too many scene changes which slowed the pace. But this production is a great example of how today’s ever-improving “media” projected images make each transition instantaneous and magical.
Mean Girls continues its wild ride through March 6.
