OCP Needs Actors for The Addams Family

6/17/2014

6/17-18 - The Owosso Community Players are looking for creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky actors and actresses for its season opening production of The Addams Family, to be performed on September 5, 6, 12, 13 at 8 p.m. and September 7 & 14 at 3 p.m. in the Lebowsky Center, downtown Owosso.

The Addams Family features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Auditions for The Addams Family will be held on June 17 and 18, at 7 p.m. in the Lebowsky Center, 122 E. Main St., Owosso. Sign-in begins at 6:30 p.m. Those auditioning should come prepared with a vocal selection, preferably a contemporary musical theatre song. Everyone will learn a short dance combination and read from the script. Prospective cast members are asked to bring their schedules of conflicts to facilitate rehearsal scheduling.
Casting roles include: Gomez Addams, Morticia Addams, Uncle Fester, Wednesday Addams, Grandma, Pugsley Addams, Lurch; Mal, Alice and Lucas Beineke, and members of “the ancestors” ensemble. Roles are primarily for adults aged 16 and above—Pugsley Addams is the only youth-appropriate role.

Full character descriptions can be found athttp://www.owossoplayers.com/get-involved/auditions.
The Addams Family was written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and is based upon the characters created by Charles Addams. It is produced with special permission from Theatrical Rights Worldwide.
