12/8-9 - NEW AUDITION INFORMATION - Riverwalk Black Box Show

“A Hotel on Marvin Gardens”
Comedy by Nagle Jackson

Directed by Mary K. Hodges-Nees

Audition Dates: Sun & Mon, December 8&9, 2019, at 7 pm.

Production Dates: March 12-15 & 19-22, 2020

"All I want is to run everything and always be right; now is that so much to ask?" Thus speaks K.C., the no-nonsense editor of ME magazine, a popular rag dedicated to the upwardly mobile. K.C. lives by herself on an island off the Connecticut coast, the island’s only inhabitant. And on April Fool’s Day she has three friends gather at her house for their annual Monopoly game. One of her guests is new, and doesn’t know K.C.’s elaborate set of “rules” for behavior. As if that doesn’t cause enough problems, a young woman appears at the door because after rejecting her date’s advances while out in his boat, he dumps her off on the island to find her own way home.

Cast of Characters:
new info: KC is now pre-cast, and Henry is now available. TWO parts open.

KC --- (pronounced “Casey”) magazine editor. Handsome woman in her 40’s. *
BO - - real name Robert, K.C.’s publisher. Late 40’s hale and hearty.*
ERNA - - Magazine’s Food Critic & new player this year. Attractive in an eccentric way.*

HENRY- - assistant editor, whom K. C. plans to fire. Late 30’s insecure and bookish.
ROSE – stranded school teacher. Very pretty, late 20’s or early 30’s

*These parts are precast, but I will audition for them if people I want are not able to do the show.

Come prepared to read from the script. Perusal scripts are available at the
Riverwalk Theatre Office Tuesday-Friday, 10am-5:30pm - 482-5700

Investment ad seeks actors - age 50-60

11/19/2019

Our company, Siena Investments, is shooting a new commercial that will air with WKAR. We are seeking 1 male actor and 1 female actor to assist us.

Siena Investments is a full-service wealth management firm that focuses on helping clients Prepare For Retirement. We do NOT work on commissions, we are a fiduciary, meaning we only act in the best interest of the client at all times. Learn more about us at PrepareForRetirement.com.

The commercial will be shot in our Williamston location, 219 E Grand River Avenue.

We would have the two actors sitting as a sophisticated, upper-middle class "couple," with a member of our team in our office lounge and also potentially around a conference table. Everyone will be dressed business casual and will be having a fake, cheerful discussion about their retirement plans and how we can assist. Everyone will inevitably shake hands at some point. There will not be any lines, as the commercial will have a voiceover. We are focusing on the "about to retire" demographic, so the ideal candidates would be between ages 50-60 years old.

Please include a headshot if interested!

We would ask the actors to arrive 15 minutes before filming to meet our team and get acclimated to our space. We expect to film no longer than 45 minutes and would pay each actor $50 for the hour of their time and talents. The filming date is YTBD and will be based on availability of all parties.

If interested, please contact me via email, [email protected], with a headshot, best phone number to reach you by, as well as availability. We ask that you be able to get yourself to and from the filming location. I can discuss more in-depth about attire if needed.

Thank you for your interest!

Betrayal, treachery, and a knife fight: it’s just another Christmas for the royal family! King Henry throws a Christmas feast for the newly crowned King of France. Also in attendance are Henry’s three plotting sons, each eager to take the throne, and Henry’s manipulative wife Eleanor of Aquitaine, newly released from house arrest. Even though they need to appear a happy family for the King of France, this doesn’t stop each of them from secretly plotting to take the others down. While the three sons backstab and squabble to take their place in history, Eleanor and Henry use their offspring as pawns against each other in a dangerous game of cat and mouse.

Curtainless Theatre presents William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar
Directed by Dale Wayne Williams
Performs March 6-8 & 13-15, 2020
at Sycamore Creek Church

Audition Workshop/Principals Audition

December 9, 2019
6:30-8:30 PM
Sycamore Creek Church
6:30 - 7:30 PM - Audition Workshop

This workshop is a chance for those interested in auditioning for Julius Caesar who may want some help preparing a monologue or practicing movement and cold-reading. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions and receive guidance to aid them as they prepare for auditions.
7:30 - 8:30 PM - Principals Audition

Please note that all roles in this production will be cast without regard to gender.

The second half of the event will consist of auditions for those interested in playing one of the three heftiest roles in the show: Brutus, Cassius, and Mark Antony. Because these roles each have a significant number of lines (Mark Antony has 329, Cassius has 506, and Brutus has a whopping 694), this early audition will give the actors cast in them a head start on working through the lines.

If you are interested in auditioning for one of these roles, please fill out this form so that we can get an idea of numbers. Those interested should also prepare a Shakespearean monologue. You will only have three minutes to perform your monologue, so be conscious of length! Be prepared to read scenes from the script as well as participate in a short movement exercise.

Those who come for the audition workshop but are not auditioning for one of the three roles listed above are welcome and encouraged to stay and observe these auditions to get a better sense of how general auditions will be run.

General Auditions

December 16 & 17, 2019
6:30-8:30 PM
Sycamore Creek Church

These auditions are for all roles except the three principal roles listed above. Those interested should prepare a Shakespearean monologue (two minutes or less). Be prepared to read from the script as well as participate in a short movement exercise.

Please Note: Those who attend the principals audition on December 9 to read for the parts of Brutus, Cassius, and Mark Antony, but are not cast in those roles, are not required to attend the general auditions to be considered for other roles in the production. However, it is encouraged!
