Andromeda Community Theatre will host an interactive “Audition Workshop” on Saturday, March 21. There will be a $5.00 cover fee to participate. The one day event will be open to everyone, all ages welcome. The workshop is being proudly sponsored by, and held at, the Historic Eaton Theater at 235 South Cochran in downtown Charlotte. Reservations are not required, but please RSVP at [email protected] or message us on our Facebook page so we can gauge attendance. We suggest you arrive a bit early if possible.
This interactive workshop will encompass some of the following:
• Understanding a director’s thought process
• How to utilize a mirror for self-perception (please bring a small hand mirror if you have one available)
• How to handle a cold read
• How to prepare a monologue
• What to do when your character needs an accent (or, when to use a “funny voice”)
• How to get the part if you’re serious about it
• Manner, movement, & voice; physical proximity
If down inside you there is an actor of any level screaming to be let out then you should seriously consider making time for this workshop.
Throughout the year there will be other varied clinics with a diverse theme and subject matter. Stay tuned to our web page (www.andromedaplayers.org) and our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AndromedaCommunityTheatre) for details.
