To be extra careful, as the Omicron surge subsides (?!) Riverwalk Theatre has postponed its auditions for the satiric comedy, ART, from January 29-30 to Monday and Tuesday, February 14-15.

Rehearsals begin March 6
Production Dates: April 21-May 1
Art is Yasmina Reza’s winner of the 1996 Olivier Award for Best Comedy and the 1998 Tony Award for Best Play. This raucous comedy about stretching or breaking the limits of friendship over a painting will have you laughing your ART off!
Cast of Characters:

Serge: Serge is well off enough to have recently purchased a very expensive painting. He’s defensive and condescending about the reaction his purchase gets from others. Will he choose to lose his friends over this?
Marc: Marc thinks Serge has been foolish in buying this piece of art. He’s dismissive of its artistic merits and judgmental regarding the price Serge paid for it. His insults drive the story to its extremes.
Yvan: Yvan may appear to be the third wheel here, but his situation is crucial to the developments. He’s nervous about everything…his approaching wedding, his career, and how to react to the increasing tension between his friends. Yvan has an intense, lengthy monologue that may well generate the greatest audience response.

Auditions will be held live on Riverwalk’s Black Box stage. All auditioners and other volunteers must be fully vaccinated to participate in Riverwalk Theatre activities and show proof of vaccination for building entry. Masks are required at all times in the building other than when actively performing.
