MSU Summer Circle Theatre is looking for two community actors to play Alan and Arlene in the musical Baby directed by Lynn Lammers. Community members are paid $500 for their roles in the show.
Baby is set on a college campus and takes place over a period of nine months, spanning the seasons from March to November. Danny and Lizzie, both 20, are students studying music. They share a basement flat and are close to graduating. Alan (48) who is a dean of the college, and his wife Arlene (43) are returning from holiday. Pam and her husband Nick - both 30 - are sport coaches. All three women have good reason to believe that they are accidentally pregnant, and each couple feels on the verge of great changes.
Please prepare one 32 bar song in the style of the show. You may sing from the musical. Accompanist provided. Auditions begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday March 30, 2013. Callbacks will be immediately following auditions. Please be prepared to stay for callbacks.
Rehearsals begin around MAY 13th. Rehearsals are in the evenings at MSU. Some weekend rehearsals. Show performs 6/19-22 at 8:00 PM.
