Auditions for the Owosso Community Players production of the Tony Award winning comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will take place at the Lebowsky Center on March 7 and March 8 at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for sign-in.
The show opens April 20 for two weekends. The following roles are available for four adult females and two adult males:
Vanya - 40s-50s, living is Bucks County. Resigned to his life, more or less, at least compared to Sonia.
Sonia - (Vanya's) adopted sister, 40s-50s, living with him in Bucks County. Discontent, upset, regretful.
Masha - Vanya's sister, 40s-50s, glamorous and successful actress who goes gallivanting around the world.
Spike - An aspiring actor, 20s-30s, sexy, self-absorbed, Masha's new companion.
Nina - Lovely, sincere would be actress, 20s-30s, visiting her aunt and uncle next door. Star struck energy.
Cassandra - Cleaning lady and soothsayer, any age.
The play tells the story of Vanya and Sonia, who have never left the confines of their childhood home in Bucks County, PA, while their sister Masha has been gallivanting around the world as a successful actress. A surprise visit from Masha and her 20-something boy toy, Spike, throws the normally quiet household into utter upheaval, resulting in hilarious mirth.
