Andromeda Community Theatre is announcing open auditions for the sensational new comedy “Spreading It Around” from Londos D'Arrigo, the hard-hitting comedy writer for Phyllis Diller, Lily Tomlin, and Joan Rivers.
Angela Drayton, a wealthy widow living in an up-scale retirement community, is tired of handing out money to her unappreciative children. So she starts the “S.I.N. (Spending It Now) Foundation,” to give to those truly in need. This terrifies her greedy son, driving him to devise a plan to have her committed. Featuring delicious roles for adult and mature actors, this poignant family comedy has played numerous theatre in the US and Canada, and continues spreading the laughs around.
Actors needed include one male and one female of retirement community age, plus one son and his wife, perhaps 20-30-ish, and one male of roughly middle age (may vary).
Auditions are scheduled for Tuesday, August 14 at 6pm at Windwalker Underground Galleries located at 125 S. Cochran Ave in Charlotte. Community members interested in performing or volunteering for this production should attend – no experience is necessary!
"Spreading It Around" will be performed as a dinner theatre at the Eaton Area Senior Center on Friday October 19th, Saturday October 20st, and Sunday October 21.
Perusal scripts will be available at the Charlotte Community Library, Delta Township District Library, and the Grand Ledge Area District Library (no check-outs). Please be prepared for cold reads during auditions.
