"Cyrano")
If any of you haven't seen TRUE WEST, it is a disturbing/funny/crazy script and I am anticipating a dangerous production by these two STARS of MSU's recent years - seen in some Williamston shows, too. Don't miss this unique opportunity to see a mind-bending, typewriter-destroying, toaster-collecting show before Zev and Andy leave for eventual stardom elsewhere... I'm guessing. (The show also features Katie Maggart and Emily Sutton-Smith.) Tickets go on sale with the Williamston Theatre on April 1. Call Williamston Theatre Box Office (12 pm-6 pm) (517) 655-7469 Or you can buy tickets online at: http://www.williamstontheatre.com/wp/ $15 for Regular /$5 for Student Tickets (with ID). All seating is General Admission--so there are no reserved seats, your tickets just get you in the door. 3/29 - And another reminder about RWT TOMORROW -- the Season Announcment party with Quizbusters' Matt Ottinger leading theatre trivia games, wine, snacks, music by Jeff Boerger & Ann Lapo - 50/50 raffle -- FUN! 8 pm Saturday March 29 $20 at the door at Riverwalk Theatre.
www. riverwalktheatre.com OOPS -- these HS shows are getting away from me. Emily is a great performer. Her mom/agent report that promotion has been shaky for this sure to be good show - and now I'm late, too! ANYway...
Emily Hadick was Marcy Park in the "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" in the 2012 production at Grand Ledge (she did the cartwheel) and she was Pepper in RWT's "Annie." Her first big role was Baby June in LCP's "Gypsy." This is her last production at Holt High School and she has the lead female role of 'Babe' in the show. She will be majoring in musical theater in college and is wait-listed at Michigan, her dream school. Holt High School Presents "The Pajama Game" at the Holt High School Margaret Livensparger Theater5885 Holt Rd, Holt, MI 48842 "The Pajama Game" is a nostalgic trip to the 1950’s - a time of innocent romances, a time of “company spirit," and a time when seven and a half cents actually bought something. Billed as a "bright, brassy and jubilantly sassy show," the musical Pajama Game won the Tony Award for Best Musical when it opened on Broadway in 1954. Based on the novel 7 1/2 Cents by Richard Bissell, the show tells the story of a union fight in a pajama factory for a seven and a half cent raise, complicated by the superintendent of the factory falling in love with one of the union reps. Show Dates & Times Friday & Sat., March 28-29 @ 7:00 pm Sunday, March 30 @ 2 pm Tickets $10 Adults/$8 Students HIGH SCHOOL SHOWS
Julie Hartley reminds us that, "This weekend is also the last weekend to see Working at Everett High School. The show starts at 7 tonight and tomorrow night. $5 for the public $3 for Everett students, general seating. Also, it's the last weekend to see Grease at East Lansing High School. The show is tonight and tomorrow night at 7:30 and Sunday at 2. $10... not sure of other pricing also general admission." I usually get HS show information late-ish, and never quite keep track. They're not "officially" on my GLUT radar, but they do some wonderful stuff. I want to get a "Theatre Leader Contact Email" for each high school, so I can send the monthly calendar for proofreading and get any shows added earlier. Getting info randomly from parents and/or Facebook is not ideal... East Lansing High School Presents

It will be a PARTY with Broadway and theatre trivia games led by WKAR's Quizbuster host, Matt Ottinger. Everyone attending is welcome to compete. Multiple-choice questions will help sort out the real experts who will then compete head-to-head. Trivia expert Matt Ottinger is not only host of the locally-televised high school WKAR QuizBusters competition, but also appeared as a contestant on Jeopardy a few years ago, giving Ken Jennings a run for his money during his record run of victories. Matt is also Lansing's favorite show videographer and compiles a wonderful theatre database website at lansingtheater.wikispaces.com/ Bring some ca$h for the 50/50 RAFFLE and you could get lucky! Jeff Boerger and Anne Lapo will baring their Cajun charm to the evening's musical entertainment. This will be a great event for us to socialize, and look forward to the exciting year to come. The $20 admission fee includes snacks and beverages (wine!) Tickets will be available at the door - reservations NOT required. See you there! www.riverwalktheatre.com Hi Jane!
I hope all is going well in the Michigan theatre scene :) New York has been a bumpy road, but an exciting time. I'm developing a new website for actors, theatres, and playwrights called "Script Match". Its goal will be to connect actors and theatres with scripts that fit their needs. For actors, they will be able to find scripts with characters that match their type, which will be greatly beneficial in searching for scene work or audition material. Right now I have a survey for actors to fill out, to help us with development and gauge general interest in the site. It's very brief. Could you publish the link to the survey in your next GLUT list email? https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QFZTX6P Thank you! Dennis Corsi <[email protected]> 4/6-7 - You KNOW the Godspell AUDITIONS are coming up Sunday/Monday April 6-7 at 7pm -- bring a SONG to sing (Music Director John Dale Smith will be there to accompany) and be prepared to read from the script and improvise scenes. Show dates May 29- June 8, More audition info at RiverwalkTheatre.com.
But here's a new request: Director John Delaney says: For Godspell, I need more (possibly three) mini or "exercise" trampolines and scads of 1 1\2 inch rope. Can this be posted in GLUT? Anyone with trampoline/rope questions/information, contact John Delaney <[email protected]> |
