https://www.facebook.com/events/534571156966968/?ti=cl

Of course, I’m a little prejudiced, being on the RWT board and all… but I’m also an “expert” in that I’ve seen all of these performers at one theatre or another in my GLUT coverage, and they are all among THE BEST in the Lansing area. I can pretty much guarantee a top-notch show this weekend at Riverwalk, directed by Meghan Eldred Woolsey, music by John Dale Smith Trio, choreography by Karyn Perry.

I also did the program, and so can “copy and paste” a sampling of the 25 songs and 10 stars (& 12 Dancers) that will dazzle you this weekend at Riverwalk:

Extraordinary Christmas - Glee Smash Up
    The Karyn’s Dance Place Company
(Sarah Albrecht, Olivia Carpenter, Kendall Craddock, Rachael Dec, Kennedy Kirsch, Nora Laukkanen, Natali Mann, Harper Massey, Chloe Mayes, Frankie Nevin, Kyra Pohl, Jennifer Tran)

From The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas
Hard Candy Christmas – Carol Hall
Laura Croff, Larissa Gleason-Clark, Kelley Lofton, Racheal Raymer, & Maggie Smith

From I Love My Wife
Lovers on Christmas Eve – Cy Coleman
    Ben Holzhausen & Racheal Raymer

The Little Drummer Boy (Peace On Earth)
– Simeone, Onoratui, & Davis and Grossman & Fraser
    Brian Farnham & Bob Purosky

You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch – Seuss & Hague
    Travis Williams

Text Me Merry Christmas - Javerbaum & Schlesinger
    Kelley Lofton & Adam Woolsey

From Holiday Inn
Happy Holidays/White Christmas – Arr. Lojeski
    Full Company

Oh Santa - Kylie Minogue
    The Karyn’s Dance Place Company

Santa Baby – Javits, Springer, & Springer
    Maggie Smith

From Elf the Musical
Never Fall In Love (With an Elf) – Beguelin & Sklar
    Racheal Raymer

Medley: Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, & Jingle Bell Rock – Marks, Connor; & Boothe & Beal
Brian Farnham, Ben Holzhausen, Bob Purosky, Travis Williams, & Adam Woolsey

The Importance of Being Earnest at Waverly

12/2/2018

Waverly Theatrical Ensemble presents Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest
Since September, nine students at Waverly High School have been digging into this ‘trivial comedy for serious people’ and their hard work is about to pay off. On December 6th The Importance of Being Earnest, a favorite among theatre and literature fans alike, will be presented at Waverly High School.
Possibly Wilde’s most recognizable play, audiences will delight in this wild comedy about two bachelors in Victorian London. Jack and Algernon maintain double lives to escape the tediousness of high society but soon find themselves in a wacky mess of romance, mistaken identity, and topped off with a preposterous origin story.
Audiences familiar with Waverly’s productions will be surprised by a few new faces amongst the recognizable upperclassmen. “The cast has been having a ton of fun with the wit and the outlandish circumstances that their characters find themselves in. It’s been great to watch the cast find new ways to make each other laugh.”
New to this side of Waverly’s stage, director Rita Deibler chose Earnest for its lighthearted comedy, something students and audiences could really have fun with. “It’s been an absolute delight to watch these students really dig into their characters, they’re beyond excited for people to see this show. You can really feel the energy during rehearsals, their ability and dedication have absolutely exceeded my expectations, it’s truly exciting.”
Date: December 6-9, 2018
Time: Thurs-Saturday 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Ticket Prices: $10 at the door, general admission
Location: Waverly High School 160 Snow rd, Lansing, MI 48917
