Renegade Ruckus Seeking Two Actors

The teams have been created by performance groups and individuals.Though we still need two performers to round out one of the teams. If interested in performing for the Renegade Ruckus email me, mailto:[email protected]. Once we have the two remaining actors, I'll contact the individuals that have expressed interest and assign them to teams.
To refresh your memory. Here are the details for the event.

Dear theatre friends,

The Renegade Theatre Festival has added a new event. They have created the Renegade Ruckus. The Ruckus is a 24-hour free-for-all of play writing and performing madness. The Ruckus will provide prompts to writers to develop a 10 minute play utilizing four actors in just twelve hours. Those freshly birthed plays will immediately go from womb to work as they are handed off to 6 teams to rehearse and perform just 24 hours after the writers received their marching orders. (And are hopefully better at not mixing metaphors.)

The teams will be assigned the scripts and performance slots randomly and have approximately twelve hours to prepare.

Just the facts:

    • Prompts will be provided to writers at 10:30 pm Friday August 17th in Old Town Lansing, MI.

    • Teams will receive scripts at 10:30 am Saturday August 18th in Old Town Lansing, MI

    • Teams will perform scripts beginning at 10:30 pm Saturday August 18th in Old Town Lansing, MI

    • Scripts will incorporate four actors and prompts

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

jeff croff  mailto:[email protected]

Renegade Ruckus seeks performance teams

7/17/2018

Jeff Croff of Ixion Theatre has been asked to coordinate the Renegade Festival's first ever 24 hour play event, the Renegade Ruckus.

He says:

The Renegade Theatre Festival has added a new event. They have created the Renegade Ruckus. The Ruckus will give six writers 12 hours to write a ten minute play. Then the plays will be handed off to six teams, which will have twelve hours to prepare. The event will span Friday August 17 to Saturday August 18 of the Renegade Festival. The writing kick-off and the performances will both begin at 10:30pm

The invitation was sent out at 10 am on Friday June 22. The first six responses to that email will be the teams that will participate at the Ruckus. (I am forwarding this to the GLUT list… so better hurry! - Jane)

You did see that mention of teams, right?

We are looking for six groups that would like to put together a team of four actors (and, if necessary, a director) to perform these ten minute plays. The teams will be randomly assigned the scripts and performance slots. They will have approximately twelve hours to prepare. Optimally, we would like teams from six different Capital area performing groups.

Just the facts:
    • Prompts will be provided to writers at 10:30 pm Friday August 27th in Old Town Lansing, MI.

    • Scripts will be no longer than ten minutes

If you would like to provide a team or join a team, please email me, mailto:[email protected].
In the spirit of frantic scrambling that the Renegade Ruckus is sure to offer. The first six groups to confirm that they wish to participate will be selected. (We have two so far!)

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

jeff croff
