10/17-26 Starlight Dinner Theatre
“What is Susan's Secret?” by Michael and Susan Parker, is an American farce that centers on Susan and Michael Edwards (Beth Webb and Chris Klaver) owners of a country inn who offer significant discounts to “qualified” guests. The play covers three chaotic weekends and the antics of the wacky owners and their even wackier guests.
Four actors (Laura Croff Wheaton, Linda Granger, M.D. Nelson and Michael Mahoney) play all twelve of the visiting guests including the world’s most boring man, a roving reporter with a roving eye, a HOG riding preacher, a weeping newlywed and “Boot Camp Bertha,” an ex-Army Captain. Add sporadic flights of fancy by Michael Edwards, who thinks he’s Humphrey Bogart, Sir Edmond Hillary, a Stalag Camp Commandant, Davy Crocket, a bootleg gangster, Sir Francis Drake and the Lone Ranger, and you end up with a rollicking romp to rival “Who’s on First.”
Dinner before the show is catered by International Catering also known as Lansing Catering and includes Grilled & Seasoned Chicken Breast, Roasted Red Skinned Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables with sautéed onions, Tossed House Salad or Apple Harvest Salad, Dinner Roll with Butter, Cheesecake with fruit or Apple Pie, Coffee, Ice-Tea, Lemonade, Bottled Water. Vegetarian entrée: pasta with cooked vegetables are available and must be requested when making your reservation. Sunday’s Dessert menu will be Mini Gateaux (mini-cakes) Coffee, Ice Tea, Lemonade, Bottled Water.
