Be Part Of A Fun And Supportive Dance Community This Summer!
Experienced and novice choreographers are invited to submit proposals for the 9th annual Community Dance Project hosted by Happendance and Lansing Community College.
Audition Dates/Locations
Saturday, April 26 12 to 2 p.m. Happendance
Sunday, April 27 6 to 8 p.m. LCC Gannon 372
Bring a written statement including choreographer theme, music selection, modern dance style, numbers of dancers required and at least three rehearsal time options . Be prepared to describe or show thirty seconds or more of movement.
CDP Performance Dates
July 29. 30, 31 at 7 p.m. at LCC's Dart Auditorium
August 1 at 7 and 8:30 p.m. at Scene Metrospace
August 2 at 2 p.m. at Lansing Jazzfest in Old Town
Additional performance dates are possible
CDP Participation Fee $60
Novice choreographers will be partnered with a seasoned choreographer/mentor for support in the creative
process. ALL choreographers must attend weekly company meetings and master classes on Sundays from 6 to 8 p.m., and take one dance technique class at Happendance, Lansing Community College or an Associate Studio. Rehearsals begin May 30.
