In an effort to boost the blood supply and also show appreciation to blood donors, the Great Lakes Region of the American Red Cross and Riverwalk Theatre are joining forces for a blood drive Aug. 27 at the Radisson Hotel, 111 N. Grand Ave. Anyone who comes out to donate blood, from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., will receive a voucher they can exchange for a discounted ticket to see any performance of Riverwalk Theatre’s production of M*A*S*H. Performance dates for M*A*S*H are Sept. 12-22.
“The need for a large blood supply for transfusions is evident in both the script and in real life” says Gary Mitchell (producer of M*A*S*H and a member of the Riverwalk Theatre Board of Directors). “Riverwalk Theatre is delighted to be working with the Red Cross to encourage people to donate blood. This is a noble cause that benefits many.”
