Jeff Garrity and I have started thissemi-monthly satirical review thing. We call it The Academy of Applied Absurdity and we have our first show,"The Playing Politics Revue" scheduled for Feb. 21, 22 and 23.That's a Thursday performance at 7:30, and Friday and Saturday at 8:00 at The Fledge. The Fledge is a wonderful community startup incubator type of thing, and it's housed in a former church right at that weird double curve - not an actual intersection - thing at Eureka Street and Holmes Street right near Sparrow Hospital, off Michigan Avenue.
I have a map on the website, which is at: http://www.aaabsurd.com
Tickets are available through a link on the website to Brown Paper Tickets. Admission is $10 in advance or $12 at the door on performance nights.
Kellie Stonebrook and I are doing funny comedy sketches, several written by Jeff Garrity, music from special guest Wally Pleasant (he has a new CD!) and there may be some standup, mime, ventriloquism, videos, impressions, bad yoga, who knows?
I shot a video of Kellie doing an impression of Betsy Devos that really captures the feel of what we're doing, and it's on the site. http://www.aaabsurd.com
