Synopsis: In March 1949, under difficult circumstances, composer Dmitri Shostakovich was part of the Soviet delegation to the Cultural and Scientific Congress for World Peace at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. He had been told to deliver an unpalatable speech, but he got through it, perhaps helped by a host who provided some novel stress relief.
About the Playwright: T.E. Klunzinger is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Community Theatre Association of Michigan and is a graduate of Michigan State University. He lives in Haslett and spends a lot of time with his faithful laptop. (And, of course, Tom has been active in Lansing area theatre for many years.)
