Chalkis the story of Maggie, who has been hiding out from the world that has collapsed outside. Inside her shelter she has drawn a circle of chalk as added protection. Maggie's daughter, Cora, arrives with supplies, but it quickly becomes obvious that Cora isn't who she appears to be. Chalkis directed by Ixion regular O.G. Ueberroth and features Pulsar Award-winning actress Sara Frank-Hepfer and Thespie Award-winning actress Ellie Weise.
Walt McGough is a Boston-based playwright. He has held fellowships with both the Huntington and New Repertory Theatre Companies, and was a finalist for the 2016 Dramatists Guild Lanford Wilson Award. His plays include PATTERN OF LIFE, which was named Best New Play by the Independent Reviewers of New England, and THE FARM, PRISCILLA DREAMS THE ANSWER, and PAPER CITY PHOENIX, all of which received Best New Play IRNE nominations.He has worked around the country with companies such as The Lark, the Huntington, New Rep, the Kennedy Center, NNPN, Boston Playwrights Theatre, Fresh Ink, Sideshow, Orfeo Group, Nu Sass Productions, Chicago Dramatists, and Argos. In 2015, his play ADVICE FOR ASTRONAUTSwas selected as the winner of the Milken Playwriting Prize.
O.G. Ueberroth is a playwright and member of Ixion's Wheel writers group. She is the founder of Sandcastles performance troupe. Her plays Distance to the Sun, Family Traditions and The Amazing Jesusall made their debut with Ixion. She most recently appeared on stage in Peppermint Creek Theatre's production of Water by the Spoonful.
Sara Frank-Hepfer returned to the stage after long hiatus with a Pulsar-nominated performance in Ixion's production of Gidion's Knotlast season. She is also a founding board member of Ixion. Sara received a Pulsar Award for her performance in Parallel Lives. She also appeared in Truculentus, Closer andAdult Entertainmentfor Icarus Falling Ensemble.
Ellie Weise has performed for the ROIAL Players on MSU's campus, where she was also director of the Science Theatre group. Ellie received a Thespie award for her turn as Veronica Sawyer in Peppermint Creek Theatre's production of Heathers the Musical. She played the Queen of Hearts in Riverwalk Theatre's Young Artisans production of Alice in Wonderland. Ellie also appeared as Meg in Over The Ledge's production of A Wrinkle in Time.
