Starlight Theatre offers a double feature holiday matinee show Dec 1, 2, 8, 9, 2018
Starlight Theatre will be offering a “double feature” this holiday season. Act 1 will be a holiday musical revue and Act 2, the musical, A Charlie Brown Christmas. Each show runs 30-40 minutes.
Christmastime at Starlight, a musical revue, will have some of Starlight’s favorite vocalists singing Some Children See Him, What Child is This and The First Noel. The children’s Cherub Choir of First United Methodist Church of Eaton Rapids will be performing Little Drummer Boy. Martin and Jon Underhill, father and son, will be performing the Christmas version of Hallelujah, original version by Leonard Cohen. Additional performers include the Take Note Barbershop Quartet, Dan Templin, Kelly Sandula-Gruner, Logan and Stephanie (Underhill) Robinson, David Sincox and Santa Claus.
Rising Star Studio of Dance Arts dancers will be performing Mary Did You Know (Anna Konen, Hannah Platt, Jordan Ranshaw, Taryn Riekse and Taylor Smelker) and Jingle Bell Rock (performed by “E5” – Gianna, Dominic, Anya, Jacob and Ella Edgerly). Choreography by Lori Arendsen. Santa will visit with the children in the audience and share a story and song for the children and young at heart.
In Act 2, your favorite Peanuts characters come to life in the musical A Charlie Brown Christmas, the stage adaptation of Charles Schulz’s animated television special. Join the gang as they put on their own Christmas play and discover the true meaning of the season. A present the whole family can enjoy! Charlie Brown will be played by Steven Edgerly; Lucy – Jean Burk; Snoopy – Jake Meier; Linus – Christopher Verhil; Sally - Nicole Martin; Frieda - Julie Hartley; Violet - Kat Koehn; Schroeder - Austin Verstreater; Shermy - Caleb Liggett and Pig Pen - Travis Hunt. Charlie Brown is directed by Starlight founder, Linda Granger, Musical Direction by Kara Damon and each performer choreographed their own roles reminiscent of the movie.
