The Lansing theatre community mourns the death of theatre veteran Barbara Milstein. Barb and her late husband David were decades long supporters of the arts. Barb appeared in numerous shows including Night Must Fall, Little Mary Sunshine, and Guys and Dolls alongside her husband. You could find her backstage in a myriad of roles. The Milsteins were a "theatre family" with their four daughters either appearing in or working on plays with their parents. She was a member of the board of directors of Community Circle Players as well as serving as president of the organization for many years. Her byline appeared often in the Lansing State Journal as a writer for the Arts Scene section where she previewed and reviewed local theatre. Barb was the "go to" person if you were looking for theatre history. She and Dave had a fantastic collection of old programs and news articles. The Milsteins were founding members of the LSJ Thespie Awards and continued on for more than thirty years as judges. We will miss her cheery, optimistic personality, her smile, the twinkle in her eye, her enthusiasm, her laugh and warmth.
Mike Hughes had a nice article about Barb in today's paper (http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2013310050032&nclick_check=)
...which includes the info that donations in Barb's name can be sent to Hospice of Lansing or Riverwalk Theatre.
