Snow slowed down the audience for last night’s show — but Hannah Center has room for all you now-dug-out snowbound folks today at 2This fun, creative dance show is written by PK Van Voorhees and performed by her students at The Studio.
Hannah & Gretchen are two modern teenagers with very busy parents and an annoying little sister. Like most teenagers, they think they have it all figured out. But when their mother grounds them for going to the school dance instead of watching their young sister, they decide to run away into the forest. Not realizing it is a Magical Forest, teeming with all sorts of different creatures, their decision leads to troubles, adventures, and new friends as well as important choices ahead. Manipulated by The Trickster, a powerful mischievous character, and a well meaning but greedy Candy Store Owner, they lose each other in the forest maze, and must find their way home. Aided by the friends they’ve made along the way, including a Pond Fairy, a Woodland Fairy and her tiny woodland creatures, and the Little Riding Hoods (Red, Purple and Blue) who are also running from a big bad Wolf, the girls learn everyone is running from something and it’s best to face your problems one step at a time!
Last Show Saturday at 2pm East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Rd., East Lansing (at Burcham). Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at www.hannahgretchen.eventbrite.com or at the theatre door 30 minutes prior to showtime.
