Each performance for the first weekend of shows at the Williamston Theatre is considered a "preview performance". What does that mean, exactly? Well, the show is fully rehearsed, costumed, memorized, lit - in otherwords all elements of a professional production are at play. However, our director, cast and creative team technically still have a handful of rehearsal hours at their disposal. Immediately following each preview performance, the director will jump down onto the stage and beg 10 minutes of the audience's time to pick their brains about the show. The discussion can be spirited, with audience members debating meaning and points of interest in the show. The director uses the notes taken during these post-show discussions to fuel the remaining rehearsal time and fully refine the play. In the case of a world premiere, like 10:53, these feedback sessions are invaluable, giving the playwright and director amazing insight into how the piece is playing with an audience. And, most importantly, the critics are not allowed in to see the show until we have gone through the important preview process. Preview performances are priced slightly lower than performances after opening night, so treat yourself to a preview performance at the Williamston Theatre - and help us to make a great new piece of theatre!

The worst part of a hospital waiting room is normally the waiting but, in the midst of a prolonged family medical crisis, Kathryn Fuller regards the waiting room as a welcome refuge from her increasingly chaotic life. However, the real world quickly invades her new home away from home, and she’s surrounded with her over-the-top family life, rebellious, love-struck daughter and a mysterious stranger who, oddly, shows up at the same time every night. What happens when the universe decides our lives need a shaking up, whether we like it or not? Will Kathryn get drawn into the ridiculous comedy, drama, and potential romance swirling around her beloved waiting room, or will she burrow deeper into her seclusion from the world? Contains mature language.
