In this comedy, Valentine and Proteus, two young gentlemen of Verona, are inseparable buddies – until Valentine heads off to Milan for adventure and a bit of polish and Proteus stays at home because he has fallen in love for the first time (but not the last!) with Julia. Soon all the entangled lovers, parents and suitors find themselves in the clutches of forest outlaws and desperados.
