This is not really a “review” since Jan Lockwood was kind enough to write one last weekend (find it under “reviews” at http://www.greaterlansingtheatre.net) but I am pleased to report Mark and I DID see Lily the Felon’s Daughter at Riverwalk - and found it the most fun show of these recent FULL weekends of more serious/challenging shows. Lily is a charming, sappy tale of lofty values and dastardly deeds, with some cute silliness thrown in. (The intermission “demolition/yard-sale” set change is worth lingering for.) Director Sue Chmurynsky and her cast (and crew!) obviously had a good time, as did the audience.
Attendees of the second P.S.S.T. gathering enjoyed cheering and booing and hissing at the Lily cast's stylized antics. By the way, all those age 55+ are invited to the next Preshow Senior Second Thursday reception at 6pm before Bud, Not Buddy on April 26.
