JOSEPH is a lovely, comic and colorful journey through the biblical story of young Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers after his father favored him with a gorgeous colored cloak. His gift of prophecy saves him from an uncertain fate and helps him to rescue Egypt from famine. Animated with a high-energy mix of music and dancing from 50's rock to calypso to country, JOSEPH is hailed for its family-friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music.
Okemos High School Drama presents "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" a musical by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice on April 26 & 27 at 7:30 pm, April 28 at 2:30 pm, and May 3 & 4, at 7:30 pm in the Okemos High School Auditorium, 2800 Jolly Road, Okemos, MI. Tickets are available online at www.okemosdrama.net or at the door ($5 Students and Senior Citizens, $10 Adults).
The first full-length musical by legendary theatrical team Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, JOSEPH played Broadway in 1982 and received 6 Tony nominations and 3 Drama Desk award nominations.
More than 130 students are participating in the production as cast and crew members, including a children’s chorus of 64 3rd-6th graders.
The show is directed by Chad DeKatch with Technical Director Brian Ugorowski, choreographer Karyn Perry, and children's chorus director Kristin Zaryski.
