The Renegade Theatre Festival exists to present a free theatre festival that creates opportunities for artists of all experience levels to offer a wide spectrum of theatre with varying techniques, production values, and styles.
Performances will include comedy, drama, musicals, children’s theatre, performance art, puppet theatre, readings of new works by local playwrights and improv, all presented by some of Lansing’s most prominent theatres, as well as by independent producers.
Visitors will have a dozen choices on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday afternoon with shows in traditional performance spaces and some unique locations all over Old Town. Saturday morning will feature children’s theatre and activities. A Festival Finale will be presented for everyone on Saturday evening including a short youth-created play, the Lansing City Pulse Pulsar Awards, and a performance art/concert/video extravaganza entitled “The Sweet Life of Arthur White”.
