Riverwalk Theatre is pleased to announce that The Costume Shop Managed by Riverwalk Theatre is now open for business at 2300 E. Michigan Avenue in Lansing, on the second floor of the former Lansing Civic Players firehouse. Regular hours for the public are Tuesdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Shop can be reached using the stairs at the rear of the building.
The Costume Shop has a large inventory of costume items and accessories that can be used to create the perfect outfit for parties, shows, presentations, Halloween events or virtually any other dress-up occasions that might arise.
From October 12th to November 2nd, The Costume Shop will have extended hours for the Halloween season – Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Anyone costuming a large group such as a school or performing arts organization is asked to make an appointment outside these hours to allow us to address your special requirements.
Individual costume rental charges start at $5 for a single accessory with the average costume ensemble priced around $45. Rental fees are due at time of rental and cash, checks
Whatever direction your fancy takes you, there is something for you at The Costume Shop. “Most of our costume pieces were either created for shows at the Lansing Civic Players or Riverwalk Theatre over the last several decades,” says The Costume Shop Manager, Mara McGill. “The quality of the materials and the skill of the construction of The Costume Shop pieces are superior to most of what you get at the stores that open up just for Halloween, and we include the accessories you need to complete the look, whether that be jewelry, a shawl, elegant gloves or that special hat.”
