Songs include: “Sentimental Journey,” “New York State of Mind,” “I Want to Go Back to Michigan,” “Do You Know the Way to San Jose,” “Route 66,” “Tuxedo Junction,” “Georgia on My Mind,” “Motown the Musical” medley, and “Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans.” Also, as has been their tradition, the group will perform two sacred pieces, “Still Be My Vision,” and “Nothin’ Gonna Stumble My Feet” and more.
Solos, duets, and close harmonies of the eleven-vocalist choral group are accompanied by the gifted seven-piece “Grand Band.” Two special guest artists, Rachel Paxton Schroeder and Marty Underhill will make appearances. Dancers Michael Chan, well-known choreographer/dancer and Grand Ledge’s “Jubal Studio” teacher/owner, Natalie Simon, enhance the music.
Ensemble vocalists include Bill DeWitt, Barbara Frazier, James Hall, Ellen Hoard, Kathleen Leyrer, Charlie Martin, Dorothea Martin, Katy McDonough, Kelly Sandula-Gruner, Dave Sincox, and Dan Templin. Grand Band instrumentalists include Bob Engardio, Don Farnum, Bill Holda, Jim Kasprzak, Pete Murthum, Rick Peterson, and John Ross.
Beginning their 17th year together, the Singers on The Grand is presented by founder Libby Brandon and daughter, Katy McDonough, choral director. “This show represents a great variety of music - from Irving Berlin to Billy Joel,” comments Brandon. “Our privilege is working with and showcasing these talented area artists who are capable of interpreting such diverse music so well.”
